About AK Harbors

AK Harbors is an independent guide to Alaska's small-boat harbors and to boating safely in Alaska's waters.

What we cover

We describe the major road-accessible and island harbors, explain how transient moorage works, help boaters read tide tables and plan launches, and cover seasonal conditions from summer crowds to winter icing.

What we don't do

Use official sources for the final word

Harbor rules and conditions change. For any trip, confirm details with the harbor office, NOAA charts and tide predictions, National Weather Service marine forecasts, and the U.S. Coast Guard and Alaska Office of Boating Safety. Charts and official notices always take priority over anything on this site.
